Fractional Controller (Interim Opportunity)

Ledgent, a Roth Staffing Company, is partnering with a confidential client to identify a skilled Fractional Controller to support their finance and accounting operations on an interim basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in both tactical and strategic environments and is open to the possibility of transitioning into a longer-term engagement.


Position Overview

The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and guiding the organization's financial strategy. This position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with leadership and process improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering professional development and collaboration.
  • Oversee monthly financial statement preparation and performance metrics.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and optimize working capital.
  • Support inventory management and cost control initiatives.
  • Document and improve business processes for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide audit support and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and statutory compliance.
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or controller role.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
